Frequently Asked Questions and Limitations

Recognizing that no one can be all things to all people, Bright Waters Psychiatry and Wellness has some limitations to its mission and vision.

I do not treat:

Anyone with active or recent substance use, including heavy alcohol use. If someone requires suboxone, methadone, or similar medications, accommodations are sometimes made but only on a case-by-case basis, and only if the individual is engaged in therapy and active with a local substance use provider or medication assistance program (MAP).

Bright Waters Psychiatry and Wellness does not provide letters or recommendations for emotional support animals.

Bright Waters Psychiatry and Wellness does not provide forms or paperwork for patients who have not been under care for at least six (6) months.

Individuals younger than age 18 years old must be engaging in psychotherapy, on a waitlist for a therapist, or actively seeking a therapist.
