Are you stressed out? Overwhelmed? Nervous or unmotivated? Do you feel like you can’t even start a task because everything just feels like it’s too much? If this sounds like you, you’re in the right place.

Using a holistic approach, I assess to identify the root cause of illness. By looking at the whole picture and treating the whole person, I will help you get back to feeling like yourself again.

About Us

Taking the time and effort to seek treatment is the first step to feeling better, and I recognize what an enormous feat this is for people.

My mission for Bright Waters Psychiatry and Wellness is to guide people to self-empowerment and self-actualization while achieving optimal health and well-being.

As a solo provider, I am not controlled by anyone else; therefore, I have the time and ability to give attention to what my patients say, do, and need. I pay attention.

I see you, I hear you, and I care.

 Gabrielle Riley RN, MSN, PMHNP

Owner / Operator

I specialize in helping individuals who need mental health care with FDA-approved medications. I almost always augment with holistic treatments such as nutraceuticals and other non-traditional treatment modalities. My approach is to start low, go slow, and keep prescription medications at the lowest doses possible.

I look at the big picture. Have you had lab work done recently? No? This could be a huge part of the problem! I will order lab work, and we will look at your micronutrient levels and get them into an optimal range to get you feeling better! During our first session, we will talk about “normal lab values” versus “optimal” ranges.

I am a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with 20 years of nursing experience. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Summa Cum Laude, and then received a Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) Magna Cum Laude. During my career, I have worked in large institutions, patient’s homes, and outpatient settings, most recently at Johns Hopkins Community Physicians.

Medication Management

The main function of Bright Waters psychiatry and wellness is to assess, diagnose and treat mental health disorders. I prescribe FDA-approved medications, off-label medications, and supplements that I tailor to symptoms, not the person.

Brief Psychotherapy

I utilize basic, supportive psychotherapy during sessions; however, I am not a psychotherapist.  Initiating and maintaining a relationship with a therapist is of the utmost importance for treatment success and remission of symptoms.  Ask me about recommendations for therapists with whom would be a good fit for you, and we will navigate this process together to get you where you need to be.

Holistic & Non-Prescription Treatments

Bright Waters Psychiatry and Wellness uses a whole-person approach; therefore, I assess for medical causes and utilize treatment with other non-traditional, non-prescription modalities.  Based on lab values and evidence-based practices, nutraceuticals such as vitamins, minerals, and amino acid supplements are used to augment medications for an optimal outcome.

When you go to your doctor, they check labs assess whether you fall into a window of “normal” results. You may fall into the “normal” window, however these normal values are likely not the optimal range that are required to achieve mental health. I order lab work and based on the results I am able to tailor a treatment plan that will improve not only your mental health, but your overall health and wellbeing.

Last but certainly not least, ask me about electrotherapy devices that can help with depression, anxiety and insomnia!

Neurocognitive & Genetic Testing

I sometimes utilize a computerized neurocognitive assessment procedure that evaluates a range of mental processes, such as simple motor performance, attention, memory, and executive functions, which help in attaining the proper diagnosis, especially ADHD. With the proper diagnosis, treatment is always more successful. Genetic testing provided per patient request.
